Lemon Eucalyptus & Citronella Essential Oil Set of 2, 30ml — Natural Mosquito Repellent
Couldn't load pickup availability
The two oils people reach for when the mosquitoes arrive, in separate 30 ml bottles rather than a pre-mixed blend. Lemon eucalyptus is steam distilled from Eucalyptus citriodora leaves grown in Karnataka — lemony with camphor underneath. Citronella is the Ceylon type, distilled from the leaf. Both undiluted, so you set the ratio yourself.

Two leaves, one evening job
- Lemon Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora) — Lemony and camphorous — a different species from common eucalyptus. Citriodora is the one traditionally used in natural repellent blends rather than in steam.
- Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) — Bright, grassy and lemon-sweet with a warm base note. The Ceylon type, steam distilled from the leaf. Traditionally burned in garden candles and mixed into outdoor sprays through the Indian monsoon.
How to use
Outdoor skin blend for adults. 2% total — 4 drops split between the two per 10 ml of carrier oil, on arms and ankles before you sit outside.
Veranda and doorway spray. In 100 ml: 25 drops split between the two, 10 ml witch hazel or alcohol to disperse, topped up with water. Shake before every use.
Diffuser. 5–8 drops, three parts lemon eucalyptus to two parts citronella, run 30–60 minutes at dusk.
Floors and window frames. 10–15 drops of citronella in a bucket of mop water, or wiped along sills with a damp cloth.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a natural repellent last?
Plant oils evaporate faster than synthetic actives, so reapply every 1–2 hours outdoors. We do not claim a protection duration or an effectiveness percentage — if you are in a high-risk area for mosquito-borne illness, use a tested repellent.
Citronella or lemon eucalyptus — which one?
Citronella is the sweeter, grassier scent most people know from garden candles; lemon eucalyptus is sharper. Most blends use both. Start three parts citriodora to two parts citronella and adjust to your nose.
Is lemon eucalyptus the same as eucalyptus?
No — different species entirely. Eucalyptus citriodora is the lemony one used in repellent blends; Eucalyptus globulus is the camphorous one used in steam. They are not interchangeable.
Is it safe for children?
Not for infants. For children over two, halve the dilution and keep it off hands and faces. Ask your paediatrician first — and never apply undiluted oil to a child’s skin.
Can I use these around pets?
Diffuse only in a ventilated room the animal can leave, and never on a coat or paws. Cats process essential oil constituents especially poorly. Ask your vet first.
Will they mark clothes or furniture?
Undiluted oil can stain fabric and soften some plastics and painted finishes, so keep it off clothing and cushions and test a hidden corner before you wipe anything down. The diluted spray on frames and sills, or a few drops in mop water, is the safer route indoors.
