Citronella & Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil Set of 2, 30ml — Natural Insect Repellent

Two separate 30 ml bottles that work at opposite ends of the house. Citronella is the grassy outdoor oil, steam distilled from Cymbopogon nardus leaf. Cinnamon leaf is warm and spicy, distilled from the leaf rather than the bark, and used a drop at a time. Both distilled in India and supplied undiluted.

| Citronella | Cymbopogon nardus | Steam distilled | Leaves | India | 30 ml |
| Cinnamon Leaf | Cinnamomum verum | Steam distilled | Leaves | India | 30 ml |
Grassy outdoors, spiced indoors
- Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) — Bright, grassy and lemon-sweet with a warm base note. The Ceylon type, steam distilled from the leaf. Traditionally burned in garden candles and mixed into outdoor sprays through the Indian monsoon.
- Cinnamon Leaf (Cinnamomum verum) — Warm, spicy and faintly clove-like. Distilled from the leaf rather than the bark, which makes it the gentler of the two cinnamon oils — but it is still a known skin sensitiser. Keep it to 0.5–1% on skin, and use it mainly in the diffuser.
How to use
Veranda and doorway spray. Citronella only. In 100 ml: 25 drops, 10 ml witch hazel or alcohol to disperse, topped up with water.
Floor wash. 10–15 drops of citronella in a bucket of mop water.
Warm-spice diffuser. 1 drop of cinnamon leaf to 4 drops of citronella or a citrus oil, run 30–60 minutes. One drop of cinnamon is enough for a room.
Skin blend for adults. Citronella at 2% — 4 drops per 10 ml of carrier oil. Cinnamon leaf no higher than 1%, patch tested first.

Frequently asked questions
Is this cinnamon bark oil?
No. This is cinnamon leaf oil, distilled from the leaves of Cinnamomum verum. Bark oil is a harsher material with much tighter skin limits. The two are not interchangeable.
How much cinnamon leaf can I put on skin?
0.5–1% at most — one drop in 10–20 ml of carrier oil — after a 24-hour patch test. It is a recognised skin sensitiser: repeated exposure can provoke a reaction even when the first use was fine.
How long does a natural repellent last?
Plant oils evaporate faster than synthetic actives, so reapply every 1–2 hours outdoors. We do not claim a protection duration or an effectiveness percentage — if you are in a high-risk area for mosquito-borne illness, use a tested repellent.
Can I add a drop to food, tea or my toothbrush?
No. Neither oil is a food ingredient and neither goes in the mouth — diffusion and diluted external use only.
Is this safe for children?
Cinnamon leaf is not for children’s skin at all. Citronella can go on children over two at half the adult dilution, off hands and faces. Ask your paediatrician.
Can I use these around pets?
Diffuse only in a ventilated room the animal can leave, and never on a coat or paws. Cats process essential oil constituents especially poorly. Ask your vet first.
