Lemongrass & Lemon Essential Oil Set of 2, 30ml — Home Cleansing & Freshening
Couldn't load pickup availability
The two brightest oils on the shelf, in separate bottles, 30 ml each. Lemongrass is steam-distilled from the leaves of an Indian grass — sharp and green. Lemon is cold-pressed from Italian fruit peel — cleaner and rounder. Both undiluted, and between them they cover sprays, mop water, diffusers and laundry.
What’s in this set
| Oil | Botanical name | Extraction | Plant part | Origin | Size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lemongrass | Cymbopogon citratus | Steam distilled | Leaves | India | 30 ml |
| Lemon | Citrus limon | Cold pressed | Fresh fruit peel | Italy | 30 ml |
Two kinds of lemon
- Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) — Grassy and sharply lemony, with a green edge that citrus peel oils do not have. Steam-distilled from the leaves of a grass grown across India, and one of the oils traditionally used in home sprays, mopping water and outdoor blends.
- Lemon (Citrus limon) — Clean, sharp and instantly recognisable. The kitchen and living-room oil. Cold-pressed citrus is photosensitising, so keep it off skin that will see sunlight.
How to use
Kitchen and surface spray. 10–15 drops of lemon in a 500 ml vinegar-and-water spray, or in a bucket of mop water. Lemongrass at 10 drops gives a greener finish.
Room and linen mist. In 100 ml: 20 drops split between the two, 10 ml of witch hazel or alcohol, topped up with water. Shake before every use.
Diffuser. 5–8 drops in the tank, two parts lemon to one part lemongrass for a lighter morning room.
Skin blend for adults. 2% lemongrass in a carrier oil — 4 drops per 10 ml. Keep cold-pressed lemon off skin that will see sunlight; it is photosensitising.

Frequently asked questions
Are lemongrass and lemon the same thing?
No. Lemongrass is a grass, steam-distilled from the leaves; lemon is cold-pressed from citrus peel. Different plants — lemongrass is the sharper and greener of the two.
How do I turn these into a spray?
In a 100 ml spray bottle: 20–30 drops total of essential oil, 10 ml of alcohol or witch hazel to disperse it, topped up with water. Shake before every use — oil and water separate.
Why does the lemon oil need to stay out of sunlight?
Cold-pressed citrus is photosensitising, which means skin wearing it can react to sunlight. Use it in diffusers and cleaning blends, or keep it to skin that stays covered.
Can I add these to my laundry or mop water?
Yes — 5–10 drops in the final rinse, or 10 drops in a bucket of mop water. Add them to the water, not to a dry load.
Are they safe around children and pets?
Keep the bottles out of reach and diffuse in a ventilated room the animal can leave. Never apply undiluted oil to a child's skin, and ask your paediatrician first.
Do they clean on their own?
No. Think of them as the scent on top of your usual cleaning routine, not a replacement for soap or detergent.
